While it’s difficult to imagine anyone other than Grey playing Frances “Baby” Houseman, other big actresses were contenders for the iconic role. One of them? Sharon Stone.

Baby’s real name is Frances. She was named after the first woman in the U.S. Cabinet — Frances Perkins, secretary of labor under Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Swayze, who died of cancer in 2009, turned down a $6 million paycheck to appear in a sequel.

While shooting the movie, Swayze was 10 years older than 24-year-old Johnny. Grey was eight years older than 18-year-old Baby.
