A Different Baby

While it’s difficult to imagine anyone other than Grey playing Frances “Baby” Houseman, other big actresses were contenders for the iconic role. One of them? Sharon Stone.

Baby’s real name is Frances. She was named after the first woman in the U.S. Cabinet — Frances Perkins, secretary of labor under Franklin D. Roosevelt.
