Nothing but praise. Eric Roberts reflected on his positive experience working alongside late actor Heath Ledger in 2008’s The Dark Knight . Heath Ledger Through the Years: From ’10 Things I Hate About You’ to ‘The Dark Knight’ “I’d been told before I met Heath, ‘He’s so into character. Oh, my God, he’s so into character. You can’t approach him, blah, blah, blah,’” Roberts, who played Sal Maroni in the acclaimed flick, told Us Weekly exclusively earlier this month while promoting his stepdaughter Morgan Simons ’ Pi BakeShop and stepson Keaton Simons ’ music. “I got on the set with him and he was wonderful. He was sweet. He was approachable. He was kind. He was prepared. He was funny. In fact, I had several scenes with him.” Ledger died in January 2008 due to an accidental overdose. He shared daughter Matilda , now 14, with ex Michelle Williams . In Christopher Nolan ’s Dark Knight , the Australian actor appeared as the Joker opposite Christian Bale ’s Bruce Wayne/Batman. While some roses stand the test of time, others wilt before the Neil Lane engagement ring can be resized.
The Bachelor premiered on ABC in March 2002 with Alex Michel dubbed the world’s most eligible Bachelor. More than 20 women competed for his heart and one of the most successful reality TV franchises was born. The following year, The Bachelorette debuted. A final rose isn’t forever. Not every couple survives the reality TV curse, especially in Bachelor Nation. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the franchise is one of the most — if not the most — popular reality show on TV. When The Bachelor first debuted in 2005, not even host Chris Harrison would have predicted that it would result in five different spinoffs: The Bachelorette , Bachelor Pad , Bachelor in Paradise , Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise  and The Bachelor Winter Games . In 2020, the show is a bit different after a handful of scandals surfaced. During season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise, production was shut down following a sexual misconduct complaint involving Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson . The situation made headlines for months and rules were changed the following season. Now, one of the larger controversies is the number of background checks the production team are doing — something Harrison promises is getting better. Former Bachelor and Bachelor
