RHOBH's Sutton Gets Real About Her Costars: Who Does and Doesn't Like Her?

Diamonds aren’t always a girl’s best friend. Sutton Stracke, who joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season 10, didn’t hold back during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly about her new costars.

The Sutton Concept store owner confirmed to Us that she’s close friends with Lisa Rinna, but the Melrose Place alum didn’t ask her to join the series.

“I had been asked many times before, or at least like, ‘Let’s have a conversation about this, Sutton, we would love for you to come on board.’ And even when I was in Orange County that started,” Sutton told Us. “But that was like really early in the process and I was never interested. And so finally it was a couple of years ago, they called me and said, ‘We really want you to do the show.’ And I was having lunch with Lisa ironically about the same time. And she just said, ‘If you do it, just be really prepared.’ And I had just gone through a divorce and I was like, ‘I don’t think I’m prepared.’ So about a year later I thought, ‘Oh, I think I’m ready for this. Let’s do it.’”

While Sutton felt ready, she admitted to Us that she “really know what to expect in any way, shape or form.”

“I did think that I would get to know Lisa in a different way and we went over a hump and that did happen, so that’s cool,” she told Us. “And there were some girls in the beginning that I thought, I’m never going to get to know them, and I ended like, ‘Wow. I really like them and got close.’ So it’s been cool.”

As far as adjusting to the cameras, Sutton wasn’t worried.

“Filming didn’t bother me at all. I think what was harder is when other people are around and then they get nervous. Like my friends or like my boyfriend, they would get nervous,” she explained. “I’m such a goofball that it didn’t really bother me. I think it’s going to be interesting to see how my look progressed cause I’m not a big makeup person. And the further we got into it, the bigger my lashes were getting, I’m like what is happening here? And I realized, especially when you’re shooting with all the girls, you’re like, ‘Oh, you better bring it.’”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will likely return to Bravo in April, according to Sutton. Scroll through for newcomer’s first impressions of her costars — and for her take on Denise Richards‘ hookup drama with Brandi Glanville:

Garcelle Beauvais

“It was hard for me to get to know Garcelle at first. One time she said, ‘I don't know if I like you and I don't think you know if you like me.’ And I said, ‘Well I like you,’” Sutton told Us about her fellow newcomer. “I was like, ‘Oh, I didn't think it was possible not to like me, but OK.’ But since then we have bonded and we kind of look at each other across the room like, ‘Oh, lord Jesus. What's happening?’ We have similar senses of humor and she's been great. I wished that I had seen her more during the season, but we didn't get to have, I think we had one, one-on-one. I really like her. She's a good girl.”

Lisa Rinna

“Lisa threw me to the wolves. We had been laughing about this … I met all the ladies in New York at a dinner that Kyle [Richards] was hosting and Lisa honestly said to me — she introduced me to everybody, we went to the bar to get a drink and then she said, ‘OK, you're on your own!’” Sutton told Us. “And she walked away. For me, I can be a little shy at first.”

Dorit Kemsley

“I thought Dorit was a bit more hard to get to know and I thought that that was going to be an easier relationship,” she told Us.

Brandi Glanville

“I have known Brandi for a while. She's been to my house a few times, so I know what's up with Brandi,” Sutton told Us. “And the thing with Brandi is she likes a lot of attention and she gets a lot of attention, but she really deep heartedly is a good person. I mean, she might be outrageous, but she’s not hurting anybody. At least that I know. I don’t think she’s vindictive.”

Denise Richards

Us confirmed earlier this month that Denise and Brandi are at odds after the latter claimed they hooked up in the past. Denise, who denies having a sexual past with Brandi, opted not to attend the finale party at Dorit’s amid the drama.

“We went to the final party at Dorit’s house and I was in the car with my boyfriend and I said, ‘I really hope Denise comes’. And she wasn't there. It surprised me,” Sutton told Us. “And also it made me sad because I wanted her to be there. I really like her. She's a really dear person and she has a very calm energy. I think we're all, we all like her. So I think we were all disappointed that she didn't come.”

While Sutton had good things to say about Brandi, she told Us that she only knows Denise’s side of the story.

“I haven't really talked to Brandi about her side of the story. But I did tell Brandi, because I had heard rumors a year before the show about them, and I was like [to Brandi], ‘You cannot do that. Don't kiss and tell,’” Sutton said. “And she just doesn't give — she’s like, ‘I’m living my life, you know?’ She's open and honest. So we'll see.”

Camille Grammer

“I did meet Camille. And it's so funny, I met her at a party that Kyle did. I met her as she was leaving, so I didn't really get to talk to her, but we have a mutual friend,” she told Us. “So no, I mean, I didn’t have any interaction with Camille so she seemed cool and sweet.”

Erika Jayne

“Erika, I thought it would be really hard to get to know, but at the end, we have this little thing, like a little bond. I really like her a lot,” Sutton told Us. “She'll whip you into shape, but she does it with only the best intentions. Every time I talk about her, I like want to get verklempt-y because of her Broadway stuff. We have a lot of in common, so it's cool.”

Lisa Vanderpump

Sutton’s store may be down the street from Vandeqpump’s restaurants in West Hollywood, but she has never met the former RHOBH star.

“It would probably be better to get advice from her about the neighborhood and the store as a business owner,” she quipped to Us. “That would be better to get advice because she’s successful and we’re like a block away.”

When asked if the other women spoke about missing Vanderpump during the season, Sutton simply replied, “No.”
